This Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark chocolate has 3 component to it which makes it taste very interesting as you take a bite at it. Chocolate layer (available in milk or dark or 60% dark), white chocolate layer, and peppermint crust. It's kind of unorthodox to use peppermint (or replace mint) with chocolate (as you might be tired of the peppermint candy cane), but they didn't put too much peppermint crust so it is good. but enough to give the kick of the mint taste (and mintier than the regular mint chocolate)
If you like mint or peppermint, there is a good chance that you will like this peppermint bark chocolate (maybe not at the first bite). This is perfect for the holiday time, after dinner and dessert.
I like the Dark Chocolate version compare to the Milk chocolate version because the white chocolate layer is already milky and sweet, as well as the peppermint crust, so the dark chocolate will give more balance and reduce the overall sweetness of this chocolate
If you like this chocolate, you might want to try the after eight mint chocolate which is also very good. You might also want to try (if you haven't already) the Ghirardelli Mint Chocolate (Dark Chocolate with white mint filling). It's really good.
The ornament ball tins that comes with this chocolate is really cool by the way. Nice design and color and nice finish. Perfect as a gift too. Collectible grade (and it is limited edition too). |

I loved the packaging of this product. It gives that festive OMPH to the yummy ghirardelli squares. The ornament is totally reusable and it's really sturdy. So I can see it being used for years to come.
Of the 3 packs, I gave one to my mother-in-law who loves chocolates and xmas oranments (double brownie points!), one to my postman (he loves them), and used the remaining one for my office gift exchange. everyone exclaimed over how adorable the packaging was.

This is a great little gift for those unexpected folks I know I'll see, because the peppermint bark is only out for the holidays

These ornament balls are filled with several small squares of Ghiradelli Chocolate in their yummy peppermint chocolate. The ornaments are pretty however they are a little hard to open (just need to pull it)
The small individual pieces inside are just the right size for a snack. |
